Hong Kong Optical Fair 2012
The Hong Kong Optical Fair was held in early November 2012, with Klára Simó representing Hungary as one of only two Hungarian opticians at the event.
Unlike most European trade fairs which focus on fashion trends, the Hong Kong fair is dominated by the world's largest manufacturers showcasing the latest product and manufacturing innovations.
The exhibition was held at the Hong Kong Trade Center, a popular meeting point for Asian manufacturers and European and American companies, hosting many large trade fairs on various topics.
The hall was buzzing from early morning. Some companies brought not just product samples but complete production lines on display. It was fascinating to see the journey that frames on salon shelves take before we in Hungary can pick them up and recommend them to our customers.

Dinner with the Archduke and Archduchess
It was a great honour to attend the dinner organized by the Professional Women Association (PWA) together with Archduchess Eilika of Habsburg and Archduke Georg of Habsburg at the Sofitel.

Congress of the Hungarian Ophthalmological Society 2012
The annual congress was held once again at the tried-and-tested Hotel Azúr in Siófok. The main theme was "Interdisciplinary Research and Patient Care in Ophthalmology," highlighting the multifaceted nature of the profession and its deep ties to related fields.
The programme included all society sections, a joint meeting of the Austrian and Hungarian ARVO societies (AARVO–HARVO), and the inaugural Ophthalmologia Nocturna Friday evening interdisciplinary forum.

Optician Professional Day – 24 March 2012
The Hungarian Opticians' Guild invited members to the Optician Professional Day on 24 March 2012, themed around procurement and continuing education.
